Jason Ellis

General Manager, Medical Products

Mr. Ellis has over 20 years of experience in the areas of marketing, strategic planning, product development, and partner management.  Prior to joining Cupron in 2013, Mr. Ellis spent 10 years with the leading providers of healthcare distribution and technology services, Owens & Minor, Inc. and McKesson Medical-Surgical.  Previous positions include Vice President of Program Development, Vice President of Marketing, Director of Strategic Planning, and Director of Technology Marketing.  Mr. Ellis earned his M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and his B.A. in Economics from the University of Richmond.

Dr. Gadi Borkow

Chief Medical Scientist

Dr. Gadi Borkow obtained his Ph.D. in the Tel Aviv University, Israel on 1994, during which he studied the mode of action of hemorrhagins. His post-doctoral studies were conducted at McGill University AIDS Centre (1994 to 1997), during which he specialized on Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). In 1998 Dr. Borkow joined the Hebrew University Ruth Ben-Ari Institute of Clinical Immunology and AIDS Center, where he studied virological and immunological aspects of HIV-1 infection. Since 2004, Dr. Borkow is the Chief Medical Scientist of Cupron. Dr. Borkow has published over 120 peer reviewed manuscripts in scientific journals, serves as a reviewer of more than 50 scientific journals and NIH forums,  is on the Editorial Board of seven scientific journals, and his studies have been presented in more than 100 scientific conferences.

Dr. Alastair Monk

Director of Clinical and Scientific Affairs

Dr. Monk`s area of expertise is microbiology, and he is responsible for managing clinical research trials, managing Cupron’s intellectual property, and developing and executing regulatory strategy in the United States.  Prior to joining Cupron, Dr. Monk was Head Scientist at Biocontrol Ltd.  Dr. Monk received his PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Epidemiology from Bath University and B.S. in Biology and Microbiology from the University of Birmingham.  Dr. Monk performed his post doctoral studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. Vikram Kanmukhla

Director of Material Sciences

Dr. Kanmukhla is responsible for integrating Cupron technology into polymers and interfacing with partner companies in product development. In this capacity, he manages Cupron lab in the United States. His area of expertise is material science including particle synthesis, surface functionalization and material characterization. Prior to joining Cupron, Dr. Kanmukhla worked in different industries including nanomaterials paints & pigments, petroleum and agrochemical industries. Dr. Kanmukhla received his PhD in Chemical engineering from University of Missouri and bachelors of engineering from Kuvempu University.
